Study and Protect is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

 

1. Our Commitment

We believe that our website should be accessible to all individuals, regardless of their abilities. Our goal is to provide an easy experience for everyone. We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website to adhere to many of the available standards and guidelines. 

 

2. Accessibility Standards and Guidelines

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and user friendly for everyone. 

WCAG 2.1 AA outlines four main principles: 

• Perceivable: Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive.
• Operable: User interface components and navigation must be operable.
• Understandable: Information and the operation of user interface must be understandable.
• Robust: Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.

While we strive to adhere to accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website. 

 

3. Measures We Are Taking

To help us achieve our accessibility goals, we are taking the following measures: 

• Regular Audits: We conduct regular accessibility audits of our website using a combination of an accessibility widget and manual testing to identify and address accessibility barriers.
• User Feedback: We welcome and encourage feedback from our users regarding the accessibility of our website.
• Continual Improvement: Accessibility is an ongoing process. We are committed to continually improving our website's accessibility features, such as including text for images, aria label descriptions which assist the user in understanding the description of content, keyboard navigation, clear form labels, sufficient colour contrast and responsive design across our website.

Accessibility of our websites rely upon the following technologies to work with the particular combination of web browser and any assistive technologies or plugins installed on a user's computer: 

• HTML
• WAI-ARIA
• CSS
• JavaScript

These technologies are relied upon for conformance with the accessibility standards used. 

 

4. Known Limitations

While we aim for universal accessibility, please be aware that some older aspects of our websites may not yet be fully optimised. We are working to address these areas as quickly as possible. For example; 

• Some older PDF documents may not be fully tagged for screen readers
• There may not be aria labels fully integrated on some of the applications on our websites that allow screen readers to read descriptions of our content. Aria labels give assistive technology descriptions of website content. This will help improve compatibility with user agents and assistive technology.
• Some sections of our website will need to be modified to allow assistive technology to easily interpret content more effectively. This includes offering our content in simpler formats and allowing assistive technologies the ability to read our content more effectively.
• Some pieces of content will require text alternatives, so assistive technologies can interpret any non-text content so that it can be changed into other forms people need, such as large print, braille, speech, symbols or simpler.

 

5. How to access support

We strive to maintain our digital platforms in alignment with WCAG 2.1 (Level AA) standards to ensure compatibility with screen readers and assistive technologies.

Additionally, we have integrated the EqualWeb Accessibility Widget onto our websites. This tool allows visitors to customise their experience on our site easily, including adjustments for screen readers, keyboard navigation, contrast and font sizing.
